Using Digital Technologies to Support Learning and Teaching

 

 

Schools need to use digital technologies as an integral component of their learning and teaching programs safely and responsibly.The purpose of this website is to showcase the student outcomes as well as the teacher resources and pedagogy associated with employing ICT within the Junior Secondary classroom.
 
The subject areas of Mathematics, English and Science have been chosen to display the variety of tools available and detail how such usage has facilitated student understanding and growth in both the General Capabilities of the ACARA curriculum, as well as the specific ACARA ICT General Capabilities. 
 
Parents and the community are encouraged to investigate the tools and applications utilised by teachers to enhance student learning and develop students capable of working within a knowledge-based economy.
 
Worldwide research has shown that ICT can lead to improved student learning and better teaching methods. A report made by the National Institute of Multimedia Education in Japan, proved that an  increase in student exposure to educational ICT through curriculum integration has a significant and positive impact on student achievement, especially in terms of  Knowledge-Comprehension, Practical skills and Presentation skills in subject areas such as English, Mathematics and Science study.
 
ICT in the Classroom Today - Information and communication technologies are employed in numerous ways in the current Australian classroom.
